The Lord’s Work – Part 40

The Righteous’ Works

We’ve talked about the wicked and his deceitful works. Let’s address the righteous and his righteous works.

Proverbs 21:8  The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Man is not “the pure”. The Pure are not like Man. The pure and righteous are not in the same category as man. You can’t be born of a “man” and be pure.

The righteous man’s work is PURE. There is no evil in it, no deceit in it, no imperfection, no fault, no instability. It is absolutely perfect, and it stands for ever.

Proverbs 13:21  Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

That is a big fat BUT! That is a line.  If at our judgment, we are found sinners, instead of completely righteous, evil will be repaid.

but

Righteous men are not like the wicked. The righteous are not dealt with the same way.

Psalms 103:10-12  He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.  11  For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.  12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

A saved man receives mercy (before judgment) and does not receive according to his sins. His sins have been removed far away from him. His sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus, by mercy before the judgment.

Romans 3:7  For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?`

What I believe Paul is asking is…If you can be a liar and its good, or okay, or acceptable, or can be overlooked, then why are some people judged as sinners, and some are not? If a liar can profit or be a good thing, or be acceptable to God, then how can God judge some men as sinners? Why is anyone judged as a sinner? Why do I need a Saviour?

But rather, Paul is teaching, lying is NOT acceptable. It never benefits. There is no lying in salvation. There is no lying, no deceit in a righteous man. A liar is not acceptable. A liar is always judged as a sinner. But a Christian is NOT a liar. He is not a sinner.

There must be a division, a line between the Sinner and the Righteous.

If the righteous sinned, lied, they would be JUDGED as sinners. But the righteous are NOT JUDGED AS SINNERS, because they ARE NOT sinners. They used to be sinners, but their sins have been removed by blood and by mercy. And they are MADE (born) not sinners. They “cannot sin” says the book of 1 John.

When we are judged we will NOT be found to have done both good and evil. We are not found to be both righteous and wicked. We either are found sinners, or are found NOT sinners. We are either judged as Sinners (because we sin), or we are judged as Pure (because we cannot sin). There is a line between the two. There is no such thing as a “righteous sinner”.

The common belief of mankind is that we all have some good and some evil in us (what a big fat lie!). That we have all done some good works and some bad works. And when we are judged, the outcome will be the addition and subtraction of those works together. So, you know… your good works add to other good works, and erase your evil works. But your evil works subtract with each other to erase your good works.

Is this Biblical? Of course not!

Hebrews 10:4  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.  …  11  And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Man’s good works don’t take away (subtract) sins. Carnal sacrifices CAN NEVER take away sins!!

Let that sink in. Carnal sacrifices can never take away sins.

Let that sink in, Catholics, who believe you must physically eat the body and drink the blood of Jesus in the form of physical wine and wafers! Who offer physical, carnal money for lessened time in purgatory for self and loved ones. They purchase indulgences, with money! Who demand penances (physical self-punishments, carnal good works) for absolution of sins.

Question to Google: “Can I purchase an indulgence today?” Answer: You cannot buy one — the church outlawed the sale of indulgences in 1567 — but charitable contributions, combined with other acts, can help you earn one.

Let that sink in, Mormons, who offer sacrifices and baptize themselves for other dead men, and wear special undergarments to gain favor in eternity.

Let that sink in, Jehovah’s Witnesses, who believe that physical water baptism, plus a public (fleshly) confession of faith, plus of course, a life of servitude to Jehovah is required for salvation.

Carnal sacrifices are worth 0. Keep adding 0 to 0 and you will get… 0.

Man believes that carnal sacrifices can take away sins.

Sure, they also believe Jesus is the Son of God, but they are still offering the same sacrifices as they were before Jesus came: carnal sacrifices.

Hebrews 10:11  … offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

The Jews had those things available in the OT. The Law gave them THAT. The Law…

Hebrews 9:10  Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

They had carnal “holy water” in the OT. Washing with that water could never take away sins. They had the blood of pure sacrifices in the OT. Being sprinkled with carnal blood could never take away sins. None of these carnal sacrifices, or any carnal good works, can take away sins.

Well then what CAN take away sins, so that I am not “judged as a sinner”? What can wash away my sins?

.

.

Blood takes away sins. But no other blood than the blood of Jesus. The heavenly blood.

Revelation 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Matthew 26:28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Hebrews 9:22  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

If the blood of Jesus alone can take away sins, and not carnal sacrifices, or any of my carnal works, then why must I do good works?  Then why must I continue to live a life of servitude to God with my body?

Carnal sacrifices CANNOT take away sins!!

Carnal good things can’t add righteousness to man, and carnal evil things don’t subtract righteousness from him. Carnal things cannot defile a man… because man is already defiled. Sin and disobedience is already in him – in his heart.

Jehovah’s witnesses are taught that they cannot receive blood from another man. They can’t take of the life that God put in someone else and put it into them. It sounds good, but… don’t they already have the same product in them? The Bible says all nations of men are made of one blood (Acts 17:26). Jesus said that there is nothing without a man that entering in can defile the man.

1 John 3:5  And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

John 1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

You may say, “well Jesus took away our sins, and he was made carnal. So there must be some carnal things involved in salvation. There must be some good carnal things!”

Bad assumptions, wrong conclusions. Garbage in, garbage out.

God was made “flesh”. But Jesus is never called “natural”, “carnal”, or “earthly”. Jesus was not “carnal”, nor was he “earthly”.

1 Corinthians 15:45-47  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.  46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.  47  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Adam is called natural, and earthy. The first man was made carnal.

The second man was made heavenly – spiritual.

Jesus was made flesh, but Jesus was not natural, not earthy, Jesus is spiritual.

Likewise, is a saved man in the Spirit. He is spiritual, not natural, and his works are spiritual not carnal.

A saved man is not like an unsaved man. And a saved man’s work is not like an unsaved man’s work.

Good works (true good works) are not like the works of the world.

The works of the world are carnal, earthy, natural.

The works of the Spirit are spiritual; good and pure and righteous.

The Righteous’ works, true good works, are not like the Wicked’s works.

Man’s works, carnal works, works done with men’s hands, are not true good works.

So, lets talk about true good works.
