The Keepers of the Law – Part 4

those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man

murders –

1John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer

You don’t have to actually MURDER – you just have to CONCEIVE IT IN YOUR HEART!!!

fornications –

You don’t have to actually fornicate. You just have to BE ABLE TO CONCEIVE IT IN YOUR HEART!!

Adam and Eve didn’t know they were naked – until they were sinners.

They ABSOLUTELY WERE naked. But they DID NOT UNDERSTAND.

They were naked BEFORE and there was no shame/sin. NOW, they were ashamed.

thefts –

Ever see something of value sitting by itself. You think “I could steal that”.

You don’t, of course, because you’re better than that, right?

But you THOUGHT IT, just for an instant. You CONCEIVED IT!

Of course, sometimes it doesn’t have to have much value for you to THINK IT.

You wouldn’t REALLY consider it then, because IT IN’T WORTH IT. It isn’t worth getting caught. But you thought it. Even if just for an instant.

Now, let’s say it is a billion dollars. And all u have to do is push a button. And nobody would ever know.

Would you be enticed???? “I would never!!!!”, the prideful say. Wouldn’t have to. But you considered it. U were enticed.

James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Not that it MIGHT bringeth forth sin. “IT BRINGETH FORTH SIN” ALWAYS, WITHOUT DOUBT!!!

Look at the progression…

  1. He is TEMPTED. (something pops up. An opportunity.)
  2. He is drawn away LUSTING. (I want that. Thou shalt not covet.)
  3. He is ENTICED. (Should I do it?)

2Chronicle 18:19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. 20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the LORD said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

  1. THEN that lust is CONCEIVED. (Prevails!)
  2. THEN IT BRINGS FORTH SIN. (You did wrong)
  3. THEN when it is FINISHED it [always] brings death.

With this progression, once it has CONCEIVED – IT IS TOO LATE!!!!

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

Now, maybe, in another life, Ananias and Sapphira don’t do it. Maybe they just CONCEIVE IT.

But, even that “BRINGETH FORTH SIN”. ALWAYS!!!!

The point??????

If you CAN CONCEIVE OF SIN then whether or not you execute it ‘that time’ doesn’t matter. You will. Without doubt.

Someday. Sometime. Somehow. Someway. No chance you won’t.

Why??? Because you are CAPABLE OF SIN. That’s what your CONCEPTION of sin proves. There is your PROOF!

false witness –This is simple. Do you ever THINK about lying? Ever, for a monent, consider it?Of course you do. Even if you reject it.

Thus you are a false witness that CANNOT be 100% trustworthy, reliable and with the IMPOSSIBILTY OF SIN.

blasphemies – What does it take to commit blasphemy??

1Timothy 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

2Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law

Let’s see the companion passage in Mark…

Mark 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do (works). 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition (good works)13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. 14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him (WORDS and thoughts of the heart!!), those are they that defile the man.

v17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

v23 All these evil things (which includes thoughts of ALL OF these things) come from within (the heart and out of the mouth), and defile the man.

If you can even THINK TO DO these things, you are a SINNER and will NEVER be allowed into Heaven.

So, it leads to this…

VANITY!!! Pride. Worthlessness. In your SINFUL STATE you are worthless.

Mark 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

1Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Titus 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision (law):

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Last one…

2Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
