The 2nd birth is ALL spiritual. The flesh profiteth nothing.
John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Again, the reply of the unlearned and unsaved – focused on the flesh…
John 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Here is the answer to the unbelievers…
John 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
John 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
The nose, nostrils – breath of life.
He gave us life through the nostrils once, I must say that He did it the same way again. Only this time – eternal life!
1John 5:11 And this is the record (what IS the record? How do you KNOW that is the record? Did you hear God speak it? Did you hear Paul speak it? So how do you KNOW?), that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Here is the answer…
1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
These are openings, through which the spirit can enter and not go THRU the filthy flesh.
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head (where life enters) of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
The Church, The Body of Jesus STARTS WITH THE HEAD and runs down through.
Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
All principality and power GOES THRU THE HEAD!!!
So, again, The Spirit gets IN us, but never touches the filth.
What is WASHED and CLEANSED already???
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church (the body), and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word
Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having [past tense] our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed (past tense!!) with pure water.
Has YOUR MORTAL CARNAL EARTHLY VILE Body been ALREADY washed with pure water? I don’t think so.
1Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
How can our BODY be “preserved” blameless if it isn’t ALREADY made blameless? Right?
Well, this BODY OF FLESH that we have NOW is certainly NOT washed and blameless!!
There is NO GOOD THING IN OUR FLESH. PAUL COULD NOT PERFORM GOOD!! So, can you? Can I? Can anyone?
Romans 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Who is this NOT a picture of? Who is this NOT the truth about? Paul? Me? You? Pastor? Deacon? Dad? Mom? Brother?
Romans 7:20 Now (Now, what? Now, when? NOW, after I am SAVED! Past tense!) if (when!, see v19) I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. This isn’t true for an unsaved person. It IS “me/him/her” that does it for the unsaved!!
Romans 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Again, HE COULD NOT PERFORM GOOD! HE DOES EVIL! So, what do you do? Me? Anyone?
Paul finishes with this…
Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
