The Keepers of the Law – Part 21

So, I promised you a picture…

The TEMPLES of SOLOMON and HEROD…

Outer Court.

Inner Court.

Holy Place.

Holiest Place.

Did God dwell in the Temple? Yes. Did God dwell anywhere BUT the Holiest Place? NO!

But, the Holiest Place was IN the Temple. But it was also completely separate!

2Chronicles 5:14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

Exodus 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

This is WHERE God met with His children. In His Temple. Their Temple.

And THIS is where God meets with His Children NOW. This is a MODEL of how He meets with them.

Hebrews 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. 3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; 4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

He met with them THERE. He SPOKE with them there. In the HOLIEST PLACE!!

Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying,

that the way into the holiest of all

was not yet made manifest,

while as the first tabernacle was yet standing

This is STILL true…

2Peter 1:14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

Out body houses The Holy Ghost – BUT ONLY IN THE SPIRIT.

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

The standing (dead) tabernacle (body/flesh/bones) was like the outer court – any sinful human could go in there.

But, God is ONLY in the HOLIEST OF ALL – which is IN THE TEMPLE!!! (or tabernacle or body).

BUT, is a completely separate and holy compartment – not violated by the sinful flesh.

God didn’t go through the outer court and the inner court, etc. to get to the Holiest place. He had His own way in!!!!

It is a picture of our saved temple today.

That’s how Jesus is IN US, IN OUR BODIES, BUT ONLY IN THE SPIRIT!!!!!

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

Jeremiah 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Ezekiel 44:7 In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.

Ezekiel 44:9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.

Colossians 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: ..13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

1Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

2Corinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (spiritual heart)

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

A DEAD BODY is a Big Deal!

Leviticus 21:11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

Numbers 6:6 All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body.

A DEAD BODY is UNCLEAN and CANNOT participate in the Passover…

Numbers 9:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season. 3 In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it. 4 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover. 5 And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel. 6 And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day: 7 And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel? 8 And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you. 9  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD. 11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. 13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.

You CANNOT TOUCH a DEAD BODY. It makes you UNCLEAN. It DEFILES THE TABERNACLE (or TEMPLE of The

Lord)

Numbers 19:13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.

Nothing UNCLEAN can enter the Temple/Tabernacle of The Lord. It DEFILES IT – makes it unclean!!!

The Lord CANNOT touch something unclean. He is HOLY. Being CLEAN is being HOLY.

Leviticus 10:10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean

Ezekiel 44 is Millennial

Ezekiel 44:23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

One is either HOLY or UNHOLY. No in-between. One is either CLEAN of UNCLEAN. No in-between.

Leviticus 20:26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Leviticus 19:2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

We MUST be HOLY and CLEAN for The Lord to use us as His Temple!!!

1Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
