The Keepers of the Law – Part 19

Romans 7:16 If then I do that which I would not (and he clearly says he does), I consent unto the law that it is good. (and I am not!!)

Romans 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

I don’t do it. Even if my flesh does the things it HATES, it isn’t me doing it. It is SIN that is in my flesh. I can’t help it. Nobody can.

Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not

We need to READ THIS. READ IT. Understand. This is Paul!

We teach that at salvation the FLESH is unchanged. This is true.

I am here stop 18

Hence… I want to address this…

1Co 6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

v20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

and this…

1Co 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you

v17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Some say, this means that if you “defile” your body, that God will destroy you.

Firstly, what is to “defile”? Do drugs, eat donuts, drink alcohol, fornicate, not exercie, be overweight?????

How much does it need to be defiled?  A lot, a little, “everything in moderation”, just once?

Remember, God judges in binary!

But, recall, if you are saved, how/according to what scripture, is God going to destroy you? This is idiocy.

1John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

So, how does

“there is nothing good in my flesh”

reconcile with “God dwells in your body”,

“ye are the temple of God” and “your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost”?

If we are going to believe The Bible it must ALLLLL fit.

You can’t believe PART and cast off the rest. You will be ashamed.

This is what those that teach that, “Christians must follow the law”, do.

They believe the parts that fit their narrative and disregard the parts that don’t.

REAL Bible believer’s cannot do this. It ALLL mut fit.

We may not have answers for ALLLLL of it at the moment, but that doesn’t mean we don’t believe it ALL – EVERY VERSE.

So,

“there is nothing good in my flesh”

MUST RECONCILE WITH “God is in your body”,

“ye are the temple of God” and “your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost”!

I believe they do.

YOUR BODY is made up of 2 separate men.

The Outer Man (my flesh, my members) and the Inner Man (the spiritual man).

Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man

Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members

2Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Your body is God’s TEMPLE – ONLY IF YOU ARE SAVED.

This is your INWARD MAN. God dwells in the INWARD MAN – NOT THE OUTWARD MAN.

The OUTWARD MAN is NOT WHERE GOD DWELLS. But it says “body”, so how can that be posible. We shall see.

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

God dwells in the INNER MAN. THIS INNER MAN IS SPIRIT. THIS INNER MAN IS IN THE HEART – THE NEW INNER, SPIRITUAL HEART!

1Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, There is a spiritual man in spiritual heart of a saved human.

v4 continued…in that which is not corruptible…  It is NOT CORRUPTIBLE!!!!!

1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

John 3:6 That which is born (THE MAN U CAN SEE) of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born (THE HIDDEN MAN U CANNOT SEE) of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again

In order to UNDERSTAND this, you MUST separate the fleh and the spirit. If not, then you will never get it.

We MUST be able to reconcile these verses…

1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil;

1John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

The ONLY way to possibly UNDERSTAND AND BELIEVE all of these is to separate the flesh and the spirit. Just like The Bible does!!

Well, unless you change this to…

1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin practice lawlesness

Again, YOUR BODY is made up of 2 separate men.

The Outer Man (DEAD – my flesh, my members) and the Inner Man (BORN AGAIN – the hidden, spiritual man)

God is ONLY in the INNER MAN — although the INNER MAN IS IN THE BODY OF FLESH – in the temple.
