Genesis 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

They HEARD the words. But it did them no good, did it? Ummmmmmm, it was IN VAIN!!!!!
They HEARD. They did NOT UNDERSTAND.
Genesis 41:15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
They HEARD the dream (by the words out of Pharoah’s mouth!). They even understood his speech/language. They knew what happened in the dream. They knew the FACTS of the dream (words).
But, knowing all of that, they did NOT UNDERSTAND.
But, Joseph did. Why???? How????
Genesis 41:16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer (understanding) of peace.
(interpreting REQUIRES understanding!)
Genesis 41:15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
And God gives understanding for interpretation.
Genesis 40:8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
But, the LOST don’t UNDERSTAND. They WILL NOT UNDERSTAND. …
Psalm 82:5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness:…
But, several of those 91 mentions of “understand” are in a very revealing place…
Matthew 16:5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
v7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. 8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
Let’s just say, they were way off!! Why?? 3 times, basically, understand is used..
v9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
v11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
They HEARD it but they did NOT UNDERSTAND it. And it makes ALL the difference!!
V12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
THEY HEARD IT. BUT THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE DOCTRINE!!!!!
Now, listen closely.
How do you NOT “understand”??…
1Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
They received the gospel and “stand” there. So, let’s see what there is to NOT “understand”. You tell me, okay?
1Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
There is both an “IF” and an “UNLESS”. So, there are CONDITIONS HERE.
You can RECEIVE. STAND. And be SAVED.
IF YOU KEEP IN MEMORY THE TRUE GOSPEL UNLESS YOU BELIEVE IN VAIN.
This would mean YOU didn’t REALLY UNDERSTAND.
So, NOW, tell me, what is there to NOT UNDERSTAND????
1Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
- how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Corinthians 15:4
- And that he was buried,
- and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
What is there to NOT understand here?
I mean, how can you NOT understand this?
Which part is difficult? 1, 2 or 3?
I believe that almost EVERY ‘professing christian” in the world UNDERSTANDS THIS, NO??
Baptists? Methodists? Catholics? Presbyterians? Universalists? Community Churches? Non-denom? Episcopal?
So, then HOW DOES ONE BELIEVE IN VAIN??? By NOT understanding????
So, one can RECEIVE THE GOSPEL… IN VAIN.
So, one can RECEIVE GRACE… IN VAIN.
It is the EXACT SAME THING.
How do I KNOW???
1Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved,
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
I mean, do you not see that? Do you not UNDERSTAND?? They are the same.
We are saved by receiving THE GOSPEL – unless we received it IN VAIN. We didn’t UNDERSTAND.
We are saved by receiving GRACE – unless we received it IN VAIN. We didn’t UNDERSTAND.
So, there is no difference. They are the same thing.
Receiving THE GOSPEL —– WITH UNDERSTANDING —– is what saves us.
Receiving GRACE —– WITH UNDERSTANDING —– is what saves us.
So, again, what is there to NOT understand???

v17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
v18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? (just like in the OT prophecies, parables and the sower passages) and do ye not remember?
v19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve. 20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. 21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
What is a hypocrite? 31 times 11 in the OT

Job 8:13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
Job 13:16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
A hypocrite IS, if nothing else, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS – A LOST PERSON.
But, that isn’t all. It gets worse for hypocrites. You say, they are LOST, brother, how much worse can it get???
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
You can see how “greater damnation” is worse, right???
Why is it WORSE? They lead others to Hell!!!
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
How do they do that???
They teach others to judge unrighteous judgment.
Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Matthew 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
Luke 11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
How do we know??
Proverbs 20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
In other words, what a man will TRULY COUNSEL YOU TO DO TO PLEASE GOD ???
– A man of UNDERSTANDING will draw it out!
They SAY they honor God. But their heart says otherwise!! A man of UNDERSTANDING will know.
Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
And, what a hypocrite teaches his neighbor – WILL ALWAYS DESTROY HIS SOUL!!!!
Proverbs 11:9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
What do the hypocrites do to ALL of those they teach???
Job 34:30 That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
How will they be “ensnared”???
Proverbs 6:2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Proverbs 12:13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
Proverbs 18:7 A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
Again…
Proverbs 11:9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge (BY Grace THROUGH Faith = BY understanding THROUGH knowledge) shall the just be delivered.
WORDS ARE FRUITS. THEY ARE PROOF OF SALVATION. Not works!!

What is hypocrisy?
