Hebrews 6 & 10 – The Impossibility of Salvation – Part 13

Hebrews 6 & 10 – The Impossibility of Salvation – Part 13

Now, I want to caution… that what I’m going to teach over the next few weeks, is what I believe to be the Bible truth.

I believe that every work of men’s hands, and every result of men’s fleshly works, both good and bad, is sin. Every good work that men do in the flesh, is actually sin, to God.

That is what I believe. If it helps you listen through this, then feel free to call it a “theory”.

Personally, I think there is too much evidence to call it a theory. But if it helps for now, until you see all the evidence, then call it my hypothesis, my theory.

This is a very serious statement, with lots of impacts, if true. And honestly, I’m still trying to think and study through all the implications and applications of that, to fully understand it, and be able to answer my own questions.

So I just want to be honest with you that, though I believe this is sound, I believe it is true… I’m not 100% sure, and I’m likely not 100% able to answer all questions and contentions on this belief just yet.

It’s possible, that my belief is wrong. Or, it may not be wrong, but perhaps there are nuances that I don’t understand yet. So call it my “theory” if you want, and listen to the evidence.

Not everyone is going to believe this. Some will believe it. Some will merely consider it. Others will outright reject it and mock it.

I just want to ask you to listen patiently as I present the evidence of my belief… and after that, if you still don’t agree, then you can laugh and call me stupid.

Job 21:3 Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.

Okay…

Isaiah 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; …

So you are an unclean thing to God. Your flesh is UNCLEAN. And the problem with that is, that means that all things that come out of your flesh, even your righteousnesses, your good works, are unclean.

No true good thing can come out of your body.

Job 14:4  Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

Your fleshly good works come out of your unclean flesh. Thus they are unclean.

Man’s very best good works… are all unclean, they are all evil… they are effectively just SIN!

The flesh of mankind is unclean and incapable of producing anything but wickedness.

1 Samuel 24:13 As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.

I personally believe that every work of men’s flesh… is sin.

Everything that comes out of man’s flesh is sinful to God.

If it isn’t clean, if it isn’t good, then it must be EVIL.

There is no other option. There is no other type of fruit.

Luke 6:43-45  For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  …  45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

No man can bring forth both good AND evil things. So if our flesh produces evil things, at all, ever, even one evil thing, then EVERY thing that it produces is also an evil thing.

The only type of things that our flesh produces, are evil things. Our only type of fruit: is death.

Romans 6:21  What fruit had ye then in those things [fleshly things, including fleshly evil works, and fleshly good works] whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

The only thing that our flesh can produce is death.

And death is the result of sin.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; …

Romans 5:12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Without sin, death could not have entered this world. Death only comes by sin.

Likewise, without sin, death could not come out of your body. Death only comes by sin.

If death comes out, it was BY SIN. Death is only produced BY SIN.

If death comes out of your flesh, then it had to be SIN that brought it out.

Romans 7:5  For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

So if death is the ONLY thing that you produce in the flesh, and death only comes BY SIN… then:

All your fleshly works MUST BE SIN. (My “Theory”)

Sin… MUST BE… what produces everything that comes out of your flesh (death).

James 1:15  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

If death is your only fruit, then sin is your only work.

Thus… all your righteousnesses… all your FLESHLY good works… are really just SIN.

Only death is in your body. When you do fleshly works, good or bad, sin brings that death out, like drawing water from a well.

There is nothing that you can offer out of your DEAD body, that God will accept.

Ecclesiastes 10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.

If there is a little death in your fruit (like “a little leaven”, “a little folly” in your salvation doctrine), then it has NOTHING good in it, and everything comes out of it, everything that it “sends forth”, is also dead, and unclean, and good for nothing.

Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Mankind was made to be the salt, the savour, the sweet odour of the earth. But since death entered into man and corrupted his savour, there is no way to fix mankind and make him good for anything. Everything that comes out of mankind it GOOD FOR NOTHING, and it STINKS to God.

I know it is hard to hear… but that is the obvious conclusion, and it is what Scripture teaches.

Haggai 2:13-14 Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.  14 Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.

Everything that comes out of a DEAD BODY (Luk 9:60, Eph 2:5, Col 2:13), or TOUCHES a dead body… is UNCLEAN. It is unacceptable to God.

Every work of your hands… and every bit of fruit produced by men’s works… it all came from a dead body, so it is all unclean. It is all… sin.

Jeremiah 32:30  For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth:  for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.

Psalms 14:1  … They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

You say, that isn’t saying good works are abominable! Sure it is…

Luke 16:15  And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Loving your neighbor in this world is highly esteemed among men. So it is abomination in the sight of God. Its evil. Its iniquity. Its sin.

Isaiah 59:6-8  … their works are works of iniquity, …  7  Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.  8  The way of peace they know not;…

You say, “that isn’t talking about ALL men, and ALL works of the flesh.” Yes, it is!

Romans 3:9-17  What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;  …  12  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  …  15  Their feet are swift to shed blood:  16  Destruction and misery are in their ways:  17  And the way of peace have they not known:

Genesis 6:5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

EVERY ONE!!! That is what God sees.

Jesus said that ALL the works of this world are evil.

John 3:19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

John 7:7  The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

ALL of the works of men’s flesh, including the very best works that men do, in the whole world, are ALL evil.

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

It doesn’t say, “the works of the flesh are manifest, AND THE EVIL ONES OF which are these”.

It doesn’t say “the works of the flesh are manifest, SOME OF which are these”.

It doesn’t say “the works of the flesh are manifest, which INCLUDE these”.

It says “the works of the flesh… ARE THESE… and SUCH LIKE.” SUCH LIKE (4 times: “similar/comparable”)

So ALL the works of the flesh ARE THESE EVIL THINGS, AND (any others not listed), they are JUST LIKE these EVIL THINGS!

Every work that flesh can work… is comparable to an EVIL WORK.

“They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God”… If you do “the works of the flesh”, if you do what flesh can do, and does do… then you aren’t saved.

Jeus said something very similar, and in response, the disciples asked, “Who then can be saved???”

Matthew 19:25-26  When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?  26  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

You must divide the flesh, from the Spirit. You must divide A Christian’s flesh, from a Christian’s spirit.

Why is it IMPOSSIBLE for men to do a true good work? To do anything other than evil?

1 Corinthians 15:50  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Your flesh and your blood cannot do good things, nor can it receive true good (eternal) things.

(If flesh can’t receive it, then how does it supposedly profit from an “overflow” of it???)

A Christian’s flesh and blood is unchanged at salvation.

This is why you still sin, and why you are still going to die, even after you believed in Christ.

This is why you can’t do a good work, even after you become a Christian… Because of your blood.

Sin is in your BLOOD. Thus sin, is in all your works. You need to get rid of your (flesh and) BLOOD.

Hebrews 12:4  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Is this telling us to fight sin? Is this saying we need to fight (Jdg 11:25) against sin until we die? I don’t believe that…

Salvation does not require, nor result, in striving against sin. It says “we wrestle not against flesh and blood”.

Jesus does not come into your flesh and strive against sin with you, and help you reduce your sinning, while helping you increase your good works.

That is ALL YOU, buddy! You are transforming yourself.

You are trying to stop sinning. You are “striving against sin”.

When, what you need to do is stop striving, and DIE. You’re trying to get rid of your sins, but you need to get rid of your blood! You need to get rid of your FLESH AND BLOOD.

Romans 8:8,13 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. … 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

You can’t just cut off your evil works, and leave the good works, and then please God. You have to kill ALL the works of the body: even the good ones. You have to get OUT OF your flesh and blood.

Hosea 12:8,14  And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.  [“My good works are GOOD! They aren’t SIN in me! There isn’t sin in my works”, Ephraim said] … 14  Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.

You probably want to say, “how dare you! My good works I do for God aren’t sin! My good works are good! Sin isn’t doing all my works in me!”

Unfortunately, that pride in your works, that hardness of your heart, that refusal to repent, and acknowledge that your fleshly good works are worthless and unclean to God, just provokes the Lord to anger… to cut you off and leave you IN YOUR BLOOD.

So… Until you get OUT of, get rid of, your flesh and blood, you cannot do a true good work, and you cannot produce true good fruit.

Not one thing that comes out of your flesh and blood produces LIFE (eternal life).

Every work done in your flesh produces DEATH. Even the “good” ones… even “love God and love thy neighbor”. They all result in death.

Romans 7:5  … in the flesh … sinswork … to bring forth … death.

Sin, which is in your flesh and blood, defiles everything that comes out of your flesh and blood, and truthfully, is responsible for producing (“sins…work”) everything that comes out of your flesh and blood.

So not one work of your flesh and blood, is GOOD to God. Instead, they’re all sin to God.
