The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

The Whole Creation Story – Part 30
This will be quite educational. You may not like it. You may want to close your eyes and ears.
Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want:
for I have learned,
in whatsoever state I am,
therewith to be content.
This is about CONTENTMENT. This is about NOT WANTING IN THIS WORLD, NOT COVETING THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things
I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry,
both to abound and to suffer need.
This is about getting your head OUT of this world and into the next.
If you have plenty PRAISE THE LORD.
IF YOU HAVE NOTHING PRAISE THE LORD!
This is what this passage is about. Trusting THE LORD in ALL situations, no matter what.
Anyone know what comes next????……………………………………………………………..
v13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Paul did not mean that I can excel at basketball, programming, on the SAT or in business.
v14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction. 15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
This is saying I ENDURE ALL THINGS. I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH ANYTHING.
This is saying I HAVE NEED OF NOTHING AND I WANT NOTHING.
I can make it THROUGH ANYTHING, without fighting like the world – beating the air!
1Corinthians 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
It makes sense. Jesus said the exact same things while he walked on this planet.
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
This is NT Christianity as Jesus preached it. This is godliness. This is the BLESSING OF GOD!!!!!
But who want this? Who does this? Who trusts this? Who TRULY believes this.
Listen carefully. “Faith without works is dead.” This means that if you BELIEVE something that you need to ACT on it.
If you don’t ACT on it then you really don’t believe it.
You know the passage…
Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek🙂 for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; [who has that? Only the SAVED!] and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Money. Wealth. Excess. Dung. A real Christian is not pursuing it at all.
Food. Clothing. Shelter. A TRULY GODLY PERSON takes no thought for it whatsoever,
Where do we find someone that LIVES this???? Not just believes it. Of course we SAY we BELIEVE it.
But, LIVE it? Hmmm.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness;…
Conversation = lifestyle, the way you conduct your life.
Covet = to be in want or desire of things
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
… Hebrews 13:5 … and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
First mention in The Bible.
Exodus 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
It is NOT GODLY for a Christian to covet or pursue worldly gain.
All your needs will be ADDED. God knows His children need them!
Seek souls … His kingdom and His righteousness. The rest will be added.
Pretty easy to see from Scripture what is right.
So COVETING. And PRAYING FOR THINGS WE COVET. And ACTUALLY GETTING THOSE THINGS WE COVET AND PRAY FOR. And CALLING THEM BLESSINGS?
Here is “gain” in the NT. 17 times
Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
Acts 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
Acts 19:24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
1Corinthians 9:19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
2Corinthians 12:17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you?
Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
1Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
The “Christians” of this world are all covetous, greedy dogs. Like their “prophets”. Run.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
So, again, we see exactly who supplies these “blessings” of “gain” in this world.
It isn’t our God.
This is from the “gods” of this world.
